Paint The Town Green






July 1, 2009: Outdoor public art making.
July 2 to August 31, 2009: Exhibition in City Hall Gallery.

Gallery Connexion recruited 6 artist members to work outdoors on large-scale paintings during this year’s Canada Day festivities. Local artists worked live on predominantly green paintings of a subject matter of their choice. Based on the project organized by Gallery Connexion in 2007 called Paint the Town Red, which was also held on Canada Day of that year.

Participating artists:

  • Deanna Musgrave: Greensleeves (also participated in 2007)
  • Eugenia Dietrich: Fiddleheads Fairy (also participated in 2007)
  • Derek Davidson: Block Party in Officer’s Square (also participated in 2007)
  • M. Anne Young: The Lair of the White Worm
  • Meredith Snider: Radioactive Squid
  • Hector Tovar: Fireworks

All 6 works are on display at City Hall Gallery until the end of August 2009.
