Local artists were commissioned to use a 24-inch fiberglass salmon form as their canvas to create individual pieces for this special project. The scope for the artists' creativity is endless and exciting including a variety of materials and techniques such as metal, paint, collage and mixed-media.

Gallery Connexion recruited 6 artist members to work outdoors on large-scale paintings during this year's Canada Day festivities. Local artists worked live on predominantly green paintings of a subject matter of their choice. Based on the project organized by Gallery Connexion in 2007 called Paint the Town Red, which was also held on Canada Day of that year.

Gallery Connexion is auctioning off 23 Salmon Run sculptures with reserve bids starting at $400. Each salmon form cost $700 to make, artist fees were paid at $500 to each artist, and the variety of adornments push these salmon at a value well above $1,500!
