Unsilent Night in Downtown Fredericton!

December 17, 2010 A beautiful, mobile piece of ambient public art, UNSILENT NIGHT can be compared to a holiday carolling party — except that participants don’t sing. Instead, each carries an ordinary boombox playing a separate cassette or CD that becomes part of the piece.

Salmon Run

Local artists were commissioned to use a 24-inch fiberglass salmon form as their canvas to create individual pieces for this special project. The scope for the artists' creativity is endless and exciting including a variety of materials and techniques such as metal, paint, collage and mixed-media.

Paint The Town Green

Gallery Connexion recruited 6 artist members to work outdoors on large-scale paintings during this year's Canada Day festivities. Local artists worked live on predominantly green paintings of a subject matter of their choice. Based on the project organized by Gallery Connexion in 2007 called Paint the Town Red, which was also held on Canada Day of that year.

SURGERY SERIES 6.0 / CIRCUIT

Surgery Series / Circuit is a series of contemporary and experimental musical performances that stimulate the appreciation of new and creative music. Its intent is to provide regional and national artists with the opportunity to experiment, collaborate, and improvise while communicating freely about musical arts.

Salmon Run Auction

Gallery Connexion is auctioning off 23 Salmon Run sculptures with reserve bids starting at $400. Each salmon form cost $700 to make, artist fees were paid at $500 to each artist, and the variety of adornments push these salmon at a value well above $1,500!

Small Press Fair

Gallery Connexion hosts the Fredericton Small Press Fair on Saturday, March 20 from 12 noon to 5pm. Artist multiples, artist books, broadsides, commix, literacy, postcards, zines, lit mags, chapbooks, micro, small and indie press books of poetry, fiction, art, and much more.
